The Bridge Family
OUR BEGINNING
100 years of experience
In 1912, Samuel Silverman, a fine guild watchmaker, opened his first store in downtown Seattle. Ten years later, his daughter Sally married a man named Ben Bridge, who joined his father-in-law’s company as a partner. When Sam moved to California in 1927, Ben purchased Sam’s interest in the business, renamed the store Ben Bridge Jeweler, and created a legacy of service, excellence, and value that continues to this day.
CONTINUING GROWTH
Expansion across generations
Under the leadership of Ben's sons, Herb and Bob, the company opened a second store in the early 1950s. By the 1960s, they began to expand into malls and street corners across the west. In 2000, Ben Bridge Jeweler became a part of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc., but remains family run. Today, the company is managed by Ben’s great-granddaughter, Lisa, the fifth generation of the Bridge family to lead the company.
