Breitling Classic AVI Chronograph Tribute to Vought F4U Corsair Watch Blue Dial Black Leather Strap, 42mm
The Classic AVI Tribute to Vought F4U Corsair honors one of those legends. As a WWII naval aircraft, the Corsair had to make tricky takeoffs and landings from carriers and remote landing strips. Speed and lift were of the essence, and the plane came through with flying colors, becoming the first single-engine fighter to crack the 400 mph (640 km/h) mark, while also providing an exceptional rate of climb. Its "bent-wing" design, oversized propeller and signature blue livery make it an emblem of aviation history.
As a true pilot's watch designed to withstand the rigors of a vintage cockpit, the Classic AVI Tribute to Vought F4U Corsair features large, highly legible Arabic numerals on the dial and bezel.
The knurled bezel on the 42mm case provides optimal grip, even in a pilot's gloved hands. Top-stitched calfskin straps give a nod to the seams found on classic flight gear. Pilots and other travelers will appreciate its legibility, wearability, and understated style. The engine of the Classic AVI is the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 23 movement, which provides approximately 48-hours of power reserve.

Give your watch a quick check on a regular basis, wiping down the face and bracelet with a soft cloth, checking the leather on a strap, and making sure that the strap or bracelet is firmly attached to the watch face. Also, while many watches are water resistant, few are truly waterproof, so if you find that moisture or dust has penetrated the case of your watch, bring it into your local Ben Bridge store where we can have one of our watchmakers clean it out for you.
Our best advice on watch maintenance is to never attempt do-it-yourself repairs, no matter how handy you are or how good the instructions are on Youtube. Watches are super complex little machines and only an expert watchmaker should be trusted to get a watch back into working condition. Attempts by an untrained repair person may seriously damage the watch and can even invalidate factory warranties.
In general, having your watch checked regularly by your Personal Jeweler or watchmaker and serviced according to the manufacturer's guidelines should keep it in excellent shape.
